Our work with schools and colleges

Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council want to show people that working in the social care work sector can lead to an exciting, challenging and rewarding career.

We work with employers across Blackburn with Darwen's social care sector to provide the following activities to help young people to make an informed choice about future careers in care.

Care Ambassadors

Care Ambassadors are social care professionals who visit local schools and colleges to provide presentations to students about the various careers in social care. They also visit Job Centres to inform the advisors about social care careers. They provide information on the different job roles and the skills, qualities and qualifications needed to help people to make an informed choice about a career in care.
