Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council want to show people that working in the social care work sector can lead to an exciting, challenging and rewarding career.
We work with employers across Blackburn with Darwen's social
care sector to provide the following activities to help young
people to make an informed choice about future careers in care.
Care Ambassadors
Care Ambassadors are social care professionals who visit
local schools and colleges to provide presentations to students
about the various careers in social care. They also visit Job
Centres to inform the advisors about social care careers. They
provide information on the different job roles and the skills,
qualities and qualifications needed to help people to make an
informed choice about a career in care.
Work Experience
There are a wide range of opportunities available within
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, working with adults or with
children and their families. We provide work experience placements
for students from schools and local colleges / training
providers
Apprenticeships
Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council offers
apprenticeships within Adult Social Care. These are advertised via
CXL and on the Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council
