Short courses for groups with learning difficulties and disabilities

The Neighbourhoods and Learning Service also provides a wide range of short courses for groups of people with learning difficulties, disabilities or mental health needs who may not have taken a course for a long time.

These fun, friendly courses include arts and crafts, basic first aid, computer skills, cookery, drama, music, multimedia, beauty and complementary therapies, health and fitness. They help people become more confident, make new friends, learn new skills, move on to voluntary or paid work and learn to live independently.

Age UK Blackburn with Darwen

Age UK Blackburn with Darwen run IT courses and give tuition on how to use a mobile phone or tablet.  They also offer an outreach digital programme which includes the loan for up to 6 months of a laptop for housebound older people and 1-to-1 IT tuition.   For further information visit the Age UK BwD website
